Tony’s Tribute to his Loving Mother Charlotte M. Lanier.
My mother, Charlotte Mae Lanier, was born on
Jan. 3, 1937; she passed on May 14, 2022.
She was born into a blue collar family in Harlingen, Texas.
Her father, Bryan, worked in the oil rigs in
the lower Rio Grande valley area of Texas.
Charlotte graduated from High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
After High School Charlotte worked selling
clothes and eventually migrated into the fashion industry and worked as a model
in her young years. She married and moved to SW Colorado State
where she purchased a 640 acre farm.
About ten years later she divorced, sold her property and remarried my
father, Kenneth Lee Suckla, and moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where she
put a down payment on a residential house in Irving, Texas, a suburb of
Dallas. Kenneth my father became an
airline pilot with Braniff airlines.
My father Kenneth died and
Charlotte remarried Floyd B. Lanier.
Floyd passed away in 2009 and mom remained single the rest of her
life. During the years of 2009 to 2022
mom visited India and saw the school and work I am involved with. She visited St. Thomas mount in Chennai. She stayed active in the lives of her
children. During the last four years or
so of her life she contracted dementia and it became worse and worse till her
demise.
From my youngest days my mother kept me and my siblings in Church. Later I joined the Seventh day Adventists and then eventually the Assemblies of Yahweh.
During my years in India my
mother was a great help in maintaining correspondence with brethren from
USA. My mother and grandmother taught me
the Biblical faith and to them I owe my spiritual understanding today. I look forward to meeting both of them in
New Yahrushalem.
